CCTV design and IP camera configuration for businesses

We design and configure IP camera systems, NVR recording, storage and secure remote viewing. We separate surveillance from the office network and organise permissions to video and recordings.

01 · When does this service help?

When does this service help?

Effective surveillance needs more than a camera image. Field of view, recording, network, access, retention and the ability to retrieve footage all matter.

Cameras without one plan

Devices are added individually, leaving blind spots, mixed standards and difficult operation.

CCTV on the office network

Cameras and recorders communicate without separation, increasing the attack surface and complicating traffic management.

Unclear access to recordings

Too many people share one account and the company has no process for granting, removing and documenting permissions.

02 · SCOPE

Video-surveillance system scope

We adapt components to the objective, site layout, network conditions and expected recording-retention period.

  • Placement and configuration of IP cameras
  • NVR recorder and recording-parameter configuration
  • Separation of the CCTV network from office devices
  • Secure remote viewing without unnecessary exposed services
  • User permissions and rules for access to recordings
  • Documentation of devices, connections and essential operation

03 · PROCESS

How we deliver a CCTV system

Objective and site

We establish which areas require observation, how long recordings should remain available and who needs access.

Design

We plan locations, network, recording, power and secure viewing.

Configuration

We start devices, segmentation, accounts and recording, then test agreed access scenarios.

Handover

We document the installation and explain playback, export and permission management.

04 · VALUE

What the company gains

A coherent view

Cameras, recording and access are designed as one system rather than independent devices.

Lower network risk

A separated CCTV layer limits contact between surveillance equipment and office devices.

Controlled access

Accounts and permissions can follow real roles instead of sharing one password.

Preparing a CCTV project enquiry

Property and coverage areas

Describe the property, entrances, routes and areas that need coverage. If cameras are already installed, include device models and any issues with image quality, recording or access.

IP cameras, NVR and recordings

Camera numbers, image quality, recording mode and required retention affect storage and network design. We also agree who needs live viewing and access to recordings.

Configuration and on-site work

Before starting, we confirm design, configuration, commissioning and any work requiring a site visit. This defines what the quote covers and which documentation is provided.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can CCTV use the same network as computers?

It can technically, but we usually recommend segmentation. It limits unnecessary communication and simplifies access control.

Do you provide remote viewing?

Yes. We configure it to match the devices and access policy while avoiding unnecessary direct exposure of services to the internet.

How long can recordings be stored?

It depends on camera count, image quality, recording mode, storage and organisational requirements. We agree the parameters before selecting storage.

Who is responsible for legal compliance?

The client’s system administrator is responsible for purpose, legal basis, notices and retention rules. We can translate agreed rules into technical configuration.
